Danish historic movie from 1961 based on Carit Etlars novel from 1853. Svend Poulsen Gnge (1610 - 1679) was a Danish sharpshoot military captain that in about 1645 was nicknamed Gngehvdingen as head of Guerilla warriors in the Danish-Swedish wars in the 1600s. We are in the year 1658. The winter is cold, so icecold that the waters are frozen stiff. The Swedish king Karl 10th, that has come from Germany, is now in Jutland, and he can walk over the waters with the whole army towards Copenhagen. At the same time "Svend Gnge" gets a very difficult task from King Frederik 3. He has to fetch 30.000 Rigsdaler that belongs to the king...
